As an Animal Care Technician, you'll play an important role in making those connections happen. Although you'll work with animals every day, this role is primarily about helping people navigate the shelter experiencefrom welcoming potential adopters and reuniting lost pets with their families to guiding community members to the resources they need. Compensation
The compensation range for this position is $19.00$25.69 per hour. Starting pay is determined based on qualifications, relevant experience, and internal equity.

What You'll Do
As an Animal Care Technician, you'll serve as one of the primary connections between HSCO and the community we serve. You'll help guide both animals and people through the shelter experience while ensuring compassionate service, smooth operations, and positive outcomes.
- Provide exceptional customer service to adopters, owners searching for lost pets, and community members seeking assistance.
- Guide families through adoptions, reunifications, licensing, and other shelter services.
- Coordinate animal intake and support each animal's journey through the shelter.
- Maintain accurate records within our shelter management system.
- Support efficient front- and back-of-house shelter operations.
- Provide animal care, medication administration, enrichment, and behavioral observations as assigned.
- Collaborate with staff and volunteers to ensure exceptional care and service.

Previous experience in customer service, animal care, or shelter operations is helpful but not required. We're looking for people with compassion, professionalism, curiosity, and a desire to learn.
Qualifications
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team.
- Valid driver's license and insurable driving record.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
