Housing Assistant- FT

POSITION SUMMARYThe Housing Assistant will be responsible for supporting the Neighbor Services department in processing new and existing Rent Assistance requests, while also providing support to the Front desk staff and the Graceworkers.PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:Deliver outstanding customer service while exhibiting compassion and respect towards all individuals within the communityReview initial rent assistance requests, gather supporting documentation, communicate with neighbors and landlords, approve and submit payment requestsDocument and update neighbors accounts based on interactions and services providedHandle Neighbors inquiries and complaints in a timely mannerAct as backup for Front Desk staff when neededProvides support to the Neighbor Services teamSchedule Food appointmentsProvide neighbors with information and other resources for additional supportUnderstand and follows the Shelter program guidelinesParticipates in GraceWorks’ fundraising events and outreach events.Answer phone calls and respond to email inquiries in a timely mannerMaintain confidentiality of Neighbor’s informationWork collaboratively with community partners and Services ProvidersAble to react to change productively and handle all other duties/essential tasks as assigned.All other duties as assigned.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESNoneQUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Strong interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of individuals; motivated, energetic self-starter with strong problem-solving skills; good judgment; ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously; computer literate with working knowledge of Word and Excel; ability to learn new database systems; highly developed organizational, planning and oral and written communication skills; excellent time and self-management skills; strong sense of initiative and ability to work under pressure on multiple projects; ability to work independently and as a part of a teamWORK ENVIRONMENTPosition involves everyday risks or discomforts that require standard safety precautions.
