Summary Operates a teller window, providing prompt, efficient, and accurate customer service, maintaining security of a cash drawer; represents the bank in a courteous, professional manner, alert to customer needs, cross‑sold bank products, and refers customers to appropriate staff. Duties and Responsibilities Maintain strict confidentiality for all transactions. Promote positive relations with customers and potential customers. Comply with department and company policies and procedures. Contribute to fulfillment of department and company objectives and goals. Perform as a team member in allocating and coordinating workflow. Assist in training new employees and answer co‑worker questions. Involved in ordering, receiving, verifying, and distributing cash. Operate teller window: accept deposits, verify cash and endorsements, issue receipts, safeguard against counterfeiting, identify customers and cash checks, refer for authorization, enter transactions into computer, accept savings deposits and withdrawals, verify signatures, provide checks, money orders, savings bonds, stop payments, balance cash daily, accept loan payments. Manage bank opening/closing under dual control. Assist with ATM operations and servicing. Assist with safe‑deposit box admissions. Open and close vault under dual control; assist with vault maintenance. Promote bank products and consistently cross‑sell. Resolve customer problems. Observe suspicious behavior and report to head teller or security. Remain calm and follow procedures in case of robbery. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Basic accounting knowledge. Banking experience strongly preferred. Minimum 6 months cash handling and balancing within prior 4 years. Communication skills in dealing with customers and employees. Successful credit bureau and background check. Computer proficiency; use of ten‑key calculator, photocopier, telephone, fax machine.
