Drive data innovation that powers smarter healthcare decisions.As a Software Engineering Advisor, you will play a critical role in building and optimizing scalable data solutions that enable accurate, timely insights across eviCore. This role combines hands-on engineering with collaboration across teams to ensure high-quality, trusted data fuels business and clinical outcomes.ResponsibilitiesDesign and build scalable ETL pipelines that enable reliable data flow from source to target environments using tools such as Databricks, Azure Data Factory, and SSISDevelop and enhance dimensional data models to support analytics, reporting, and business insightsApply business rules through code (SQL, Python, Scala, Spark) to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and usability across stakeholdersOptimize and fine-tune existing data pipelines to improve performance, efficiency, and scalabilityTroubleshoot data and ETL issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal impact to downstream processesCollaborate in Agile development practices, including sprint ceremonies, peer code reviews, and quality assurance activitiesProvide production support, including on-call rotation and partnership with offshore operations teamsTrain and enable operations teams on newly developed data processes and enhancementsCreate and maintain clear documentation of data architecture, ETL processes, and data management practicesPartner with business users to support reporting and analytics needs using tools such as Tableau, MicroStrategy, and SSRSLeverage AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor) to improve development efficiency and code qualityRequired Qualifications5+ years of experience building data engineering solutions in Big Data and/or cloud environmentsStrong proficiency in Spark, Python, and SQL, with hands-on experience in Databricks or similar platformsExperience working with relational databases such as SQL Server, DB2, or OracleSolid understanding of data modeling, data architecture, and data governance principlesExperience developing and maintaining ETL pipelines in enterprise environmentsAbility to troubleshoot complex data issues and optimize performance across systemsStrong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiencesProven ability to collaborate within cross-functional and Agile teamsPreferred QualificationsExperience implementing Azure-based data solutions (ADLS, Azure Databricks, Synapse, Azure Data Factory)Experience working with healthcare or clinical data domainsFamiliarity with reporting and visualization tools such as Tableau, MicroStrategy, or SSRSExperience leveraging AI-assisted development tools to accelerate engineering workflowsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fieldIf you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.About Evernorth Health ServicesEvernorth Health Services, a division of The Cigna Group, creates pharmacy, care and benefit solutions to improve health and increase vitality.
