Solid Waste Engineering ServicesWe are seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient Portfolio Manager to support and lead solid waste engineering projects and pursuits across California and the western U.S. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior-level professional with a strong background in civil or solid waste engineering and a passion for delivering high-quality solutions in the landfill and environmental infrastructure space.ResponsibilitiesProject Management & Technical ExecutionManage and execute engineering projects related to solid waste facility expansions and closures; infrastructure improvements, and environmental compliance reporting directly to the Principal Engineer.Lead multi-discipline teamsOversee field activities including construction quality assurance (CQA) and site observations during landfill construction and closure projects.Client Interaction & Team CollaborationCoordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, and internal teams to ensure project goals, budgets, and timelines are met.Develop client relationshipsBusiness Development-Support pursuit tracking and proposal development and contribute to business development efforts through technical expertise and client engagementHelp develop and expand solid waste services portfolio in central and northern CaliforniaExpand Solid Waste Engineering CapabilitiesExpand solid waste engineering capabilities profile, focusing on Master Planning, Design, and environmental compliance.Facilitate growth by supporting strategic talent acquisition and mentorship of junior staffQualificationsEducation & LicensureBachelor's degree in Civil EngineeringCalifornia PE license required; CE licenses in Oregon and Washington desirable.Minimum 15 years of experience in civil and environmental engineering with a focus on landfill projects.Proven experience in landfill expansions and closuresProject management and client coordinationWhat We OfferOpportunity to manage impactful environmental projects that shape communities and promote sustainability.Collaborative team environment with mentorship from industry leaders.Opportunity to grow into a leadership position within the company and in the industry.Salary Range:170,000-195,000Benefits:Flexible Work EnvironmentPaid Parental LeaveMedicalDentalVisionLife and AD&D InsuranceShort-Term and Long-Term Disability401(k) with Company MatchPaid Time Off + HolidaysVerdantas strives to develop new ways to increase diversity awareness within our organization.
