2026 Summer Extended School Year Programs – Paraprofessionals and Job Coaches Position Details Job ID: 5460 Position Type: Summer Programs / Extended School Year - ESY Date Posted: 1/20/2026 Location: Downingtown, PA (Shamona Creek Elementary, Marsh Creek Sixth Grade Center, Downingtown High School West) Date Available: 06/22/2026 Effective Date: Monday, June 22, 2026 – Thursday, July 23, 2026 Pay Rate: $22.51 per hour and $250 retention bonus (requires attendance 18–19 days) Schedule: Up to 4.5 hours per day, Monday – Thursday Benefit Eligible: No Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Experience working with children Strong organizational skills required Proficiency in the use of technology Effective interpersonal and communication skills For secondary aides, must have a valid state vehicle operator's license and good driving record, and meet DASD procedures for transporting students Must successfully complete all federal and state background and criminal record check requirements Must adhere to all local, state, federal, and school code requirements for employment Duties & Responsibilities Complete ESY orientation and other teacher trainings as required Provide individual and/or small group support for academic, behavioral, and/or physical accommodations as outlined by the Individualized Education Program Assist in the development and preparation of instructional materials and adaptive strategies, utilizing technology programs and computers Maintain confidentiality of student records and information Support inclusion, socialization, and independence within the school setting and/or in the community Provide transportation for small groups of students in district vehicles to community sites as directed (not all positions require this) Collect and maintain data as required by the student plan for medical assistance logs, daily communication logs, and anecdotal records Use technology for data collection, reporting, emailing, and assisting students in computer software applications as needed Print, file, scan, and record student progress reports, charts, certificates, or materials for interventions Consult with teachers to implement goals and monitor progress May provide direct student assistance with monitoring of medical condition, physical needs, personal care, feeding, and/or toileting Exposure to body fluids Provide intensive program level support for students in specialized classes: Autistic Support, Bridges, Life Skills, MDS, SAILS, and Transition Program ESY Job Coach Duties Support students independently in community settings for community-based instruction and vocational programming Provide intensive behavioral, academic, functional, and physical support to students both in the classroom and community settings Implement transition services to neurodivergent students (16–21 years) through community-based activities to develop independent living skills, employability skills, job skills, employment opportunities, and other community participation experiences Provide support, shadowing, and mentoring to Level I and Level II 1:1 paraprofessionals assisting in transitional vocational training to their immediate student as directed by the Transition Supervisor Aggregate and summarize vocational data collected by both the individual coach and other paraprofessionals throughout the district to create a comprehensive data review for each marking period on individualized progress Provide specific job coaching services on employability skills, monitor and evaluate students at volunteer and paid employment locations within the community Establish contact with community business leaders to develop opportunities for students to participate in job skills training, employability skills training, paid employment, internships, and job shadowing opportunities Program Schedule and Hours Program runs Monday – Thursday for a total of 19 days. No school on July 2nd. Student hours by location: Downingtown High School West: 7:30 AM – 11:30 AM Paraprofessional hours begin 15 minutes prior to student hours and extend 15 minutes past student hours.
