Job Summary and Qualifications

The Outpatient Infusion Nurse is responsible for delivering direct patient care in accordance with the Registered Nurse Practice Act. This role involves:

• Utilizing therapeutic communication in daily interactions.
• Ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment for patients.
• Identifying nursing issues based on individual patient needs.
• Planning personalized patient care through an interdisciplinary approach.
• Engaging in performance improvement initiatives.
• Providing care that aligns with the hospital's mission and vision.

When serving in a charge nurse capacity, you will oversee daily operations to guarantee high-quality patient care in a supportive environment. Responsibilities include:

• Assigning staff based on patient needs, acuity, and staff skills.
• Acting as a role model and clinical resource for team members.
• Responding promptly to inquiries or follow-ups regarding physician, staff, or patient matters.

Key Responsibilities

In this position, you will:

• Monitor, document, and communicate any changes in patients' conditions while maintaining precise and thorough records.
• Order, interpret, and assess diagnostic tests to evaluate patients' conditions.
• Exhibit knowledge of human growth and development, assessment techniques, treatment options, and care tailored to the ages of patients served.
• Support hospital customer service initiatives.
• Apply the nursing process to provide individualized care that meets patient needs.
• Demonstrate proficiency in performing technical skills and procedures.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you will need:

• Registered Nurse licensure from the TN Board of Nursing or a compact state.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Oncology Nursing Society Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Administration Provider Card within six months of hire for RNs with six months of oncology experience, or within twelve months for those without oncology experience.
• Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) or BMT Certified Nurse certification is preferred.
