Staff Systems Analyst - Robotic Algorithms and Control
Intuitive Surgical
Intuitive Surgical seeks a Staff Systems Analyst to design and implement control algorithms and software for surgical robotic platforms. The role involves developing distributed electro-mechanical systems, integrating prototypes, and translating novel concepts into finished medical devices within the Future Forward Research group.
Responsibilities
- Develop and validate distributed electro-mechanical systems and dynamic models through experimentation
- Design and implement software algorithms, tools, and infrastructure for novel surgical platforms
- Integrate mechanical, hardware, and software components for new product development
- Conduct comprehensive testing, safety analysis, and performance monitoring throughout development
- Lead systems engineering development, translate requirements, and facilitate cross-functional discussions
Requirements
- Graduate degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Control Systems Engineering, or related robotics field
- Minimum 7 years hands-on servo control systems development for robotics or electro-mechanical systems
- Expert knowledge of robot kinematics, classical and modern control theory, teleoperation, and algorithms
- Proficiency in Matlab and C/C++; experience with Python and JavaScript preferred
- Proven integration and characterization of complete mechatronic systems
- Experience designing teleoperation algorithms and real-time embedded software
- Strong communication skills and software engineering methodology expertise
