Mechanical Technicians lay out, fabricate, and assemble PVC and metal piping spools, install sensors and devices, and ensure EHS and quality standards are met. This position works under the direction of the Mechanical Technician Lead and assigned Production Supervisor.Duties & Responsibilities:Follow all EHS rules and produce quality workAssist with other departments as neededWork with and coordinate activities with other job classificationsFollow safe work practices and all environmental, health & safety policies and proceduresRead and understand shop orders and bills of materialsAssemble RO equipment from drawings as a member of a teamQualifications: Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Demonstrated mechanical aptitudeWork as a member of a team and independentlyDesire to advance to higher-level mechanical technician rolesBasic mathematics skillsAbility to operate power tools such as drills, grinders, and sawsAbility to assemble conduit and electrical panels and equipment per applicable quality and EHS standardsAbility to work from engineered electrical drawings and schematics and understand engineering and quality specificationsAbility to participate as a key member of an assembly teamEducation & Experience: Required:High School Diploma/GED1+ years of experience working in mechanical trades such as auto repair, HVAC, plumbing, etc.Preferred:Trade school certificate in a mechanical tradeExperience in a factory or industrial setting, preferably assembly operationsWorking Conditions:Must be able to perform work with appropriate PPE for work (safety-toed shoes, safety glasses, bump cap/hard hat, etc.)Must be able to operate power tools such as drills, grinders, and sawsSome unassisted lifting of up to 50 lbs. is required – nearly all heavy parts movement is assisted with cranes/hoists and pallet jacksMajority of the day will be spent standing with some bending and fine motor work appropriate for work in a fabrication shopSome sitting and computer work is requiredAdditional Information: Join a company that values Responsibility, Solidarity, Innovation, Customer Focus, and Respect.
