Customer Liaison (Incoming Quality Control Inspector)

Openings on 1st and 2nd shifts 1st shift: Monday - Friday, 6am to 2:30pm (as late as 4:30pm), and OT as required $20.25/hour Openings on 1st and 2nd shifts 1st shift: Monday - Friday, 6am to 2:30pm (as late as 4:30pm), and OT as required $20.25/hour 2nd shift: Monday - Friday, 6pm to 2:30am (as late as 4:30am), and OT as required $20.25/hour + $.50/hour shift differential The Incoming Quality Control (IQC) Customer Liaison is responsible for inspecting and verifying incoming materials, components, and products from suppliers to ensure they meet company quality standards and customer specifications. This position plays a critical role in supporting production by preventing nonconforming materials from entering the manufacturing process within an automotive manufacturing environment. Inspect incoming raw materials, components, and supplier shipments according to quality standards, control plans, and engineering specifications. Perform dimensional inspections using measurement equipment such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection tools. Review supplier documentation including Certificates of Conformance (COC), packing slips, and inspection reports. Verify parts meet engineering drawings, specifications, and quality requirements. Identify, document, and segregate nonconforming materials. Initiate and process nonconformance reports (NCRs) when supplier issues are identified. Communicate quality concerns to the Quality Manager, production leadership, and supplier quality personnel. Support containment activities and supplier corrective actions when defects are discovered. Maintain inspection records and ensure documentation is accurate and complete. Work closely with receiving and warehouse teams to ensure proper material handling and inspection flow. Assist with supplier quality improvement initiatives. Follow company safety policies and quality standards including automotive quality system requirements. Support internal and external audits when required. Qualifications Required Education and Experience High school diploma or GED required. Minimum 1–3 years of quality inspection experience, preferably in automotive or manufacturing environments. Basic understanding of quality control methods and inspection processes. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and maintain accurate documentation. Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office. Organization and Documentation - Maintains accurate inspection records, reports, and documentation to support traceability and audit readiness. Teamwork and Collaboration - Works effectively with receiving, warehouse, production, and quality teams to ensure materials meet requirements before entering the production process. Continuous Improvement Mindset - Supports quality improvement initiatives by identifying recurring issues and opportunities to strengthen inspection processes. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works on the plant floor. Physical Demands Manufacturing plant environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and production areas Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally.
