Physical Therapist Assistant - PRN Varies - Osti Alamo

Position Summary Responsible for administering physical therapy modalities and treatments under the direction of a staff physical therapist. Assists in restoring patient function, helps patients reach maximum performance, and maintains infection control, safety, and departmental equipment training. Qualifications (Education / Certifications) Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant school. Valid Physical Therapy Assistant license in the State of Texas. Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills. Ability to read, write, and speak English and communicate clearly with nursing, administration, and physicians. Prefer outpatient rehabilitation experience. Experience & Knowledge Basic computer proficiency and knowledge of physical medicine, physical therapy modalities, anatomy, and physiology. Experience with the operation, maintenance, and repair of physical therapy machines. Additional languages preferred; Spanish preferred. Responsibilities Promote the facility mission, vision, and values and incorporate them into service delivery. Provide treatment as directed by the staff physical therapist and adhere to standards of practice. Observe and evaluate treatment effects, discussing findings with the therapist. Perform assessments and reassessments for all patients, including geriatric patients. Assist in developing teaching plans based on identified learning needs; involve families as appropriate. Demonstrate knowledge of treatment modalities and treat patients and families with respect and dignity. Operate equipment safely, maintain department cleanliness, and meet infection control requirements. Interact professionally with patients and families, engaging them in care. Communicate clearly with physicians, staff, and department members. Coordinate and direct patient care to meet patient needs and organizational policy. Maintain records and documentation to current standards and policies. Show flexibility, organization, and ability to function under stressful situations. Build and maintain positive relationships within and across departments. Consult other departments to collaborate in patient care and performance improvement. Assist in the orientation and in-service training of licensed department staff. Assist in ordering supplies and maintaining adequate inventory levels. Physical Requirements Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to shoulder height; assist others with heavier loads. Perform tasks requiring kneeling, walking, carrying, straight pulling, pushing, bending, reaching above shoulder, and handling office equipment. Operate mechanical equipment, read/write, and use a personal vehicle as needed. Work in an air‑conditioned environment with exposure to noise and occasional mild infection risk. #J-18808-Ljbffr
