Software Product Manager, LC/MS

Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Software Product Manager to own and drive software and workflow solutions supporting LC/MS data analysis. This role, located in the Workflows and Data Analysis Product Management team of Agilent's Liquid Phase Division (LPD), is responsible for end-to-end product lifecycle management, from concept and strategy through development, launch, and lifecycle optimization.You will work at the exciting intersection of Liquid Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry science, software, and customer workflows, partnering closely with R&D, marketing, and commercial teams to deliver differentiated, customer-centric solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesOwn the product lifecycle for software and workflow solutions, including business case development, product definition, roadmap planning, launch, and end-of-life managementTranslate market trends, customer needs, and workflow requirements into clear product requirements and prioritized backlogsDefine and continuously refine value propositions, feature sets, and release strategies to maximize customer impact and business valueLead cross-functional collaboration with software development, testing, and supporting functions to deliver high-quality product releases on timeSupport ongoing product evolution, including enhancements, upgrades, and maintenance activitiesPartner with commercial marketing to ensure strong product positioning, messaging, and go-to-market executionPartner with peers in adjacent product management teams to ensure alignment between software products and broader workflow and hardware ecosystemsHelp drive the evolution of Agilent's MassHunter software ecosystem and next-generation workflow solutions supporting LC/MS laboratories worldwide.Additional ResponsibilitiesConduct market and competitive research to identify opportunities and validate product directionAct as a technical and workflow expert for your LC/MS products, supporting internal teams and customer-facing discussionsContribute to product documentation, training materials, and enablement of sales teamsServe as a key point of coordination across functions during product development and release phasesQualificationsTypically, 4+ years of relevant experience in product management, software, or scientific applicationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Analytical Sciences, Computer Science, or related fieldStrong understanding of LC/MS workflows, particularly in mass spectrometry data analysisExperience managing software products or software-heavy scientific workflows across the product lifecycleFamiliarity with Agile software development processes (e.g., backlog management, sprint planning, release cycles)Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences and to translate customer needs into product requirementsExperience working in cross-functional global teams, including R&D and commercial organizationsPreferably, strong skills in market analysis, competitive positioning, and value proposition developmentKey CompetenciesStrategic thinking with strong execution focusCustomer-centric mindset and ability to synthesize voice-of-customer into actionable insights and product strategyStrong collaboration and stakeholder management skills across technical and commercial teamsAdditional DetailsThis job has a full time weekly schedule. It includes the option to work remotely. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
