We design & manufacture complex, high performance, high-value bearings in steel and advanced ceramics. Our production group, technologies, & products are at the heart of aerospace industry and the world's leading aircraft jet engine & gearbox manufacturers at our Falconer, NY location. Reports to Channel Manager and will: Teach, coach and mentor approximately 30 front line employees in a union environment. Champion LEAN manufacturing to achieve all quality, cost and customer service objectives. Key Responsibilities: Coordinate all fabrication & assembly-related production efforts from receipt of customer requirement through component delivery, assembly, final inspection, and processing through to the shipping department. Optimize the utilization of all resources to include people, processes & equipment. Manage channel operations according to the SKF Code of Conduct, Environment Health & Safety (EHS) practices, and the Quality Management System. Maintains liaison with other manufacturing departments & guides the investigation, analysis and solution of problems of prime importance to the channel goals and the objectives of all phases of the manufacturing process. Be comfortable working with collective bargaining units (union). Job Requirements: B.S. degree in mechanical, industrial, manufacturing engineering or business-related discipline, and/or a combination of 5-7 years of experience and education in lieu of degree. Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing environment, preferably aerospace, heavy metal manufacturing. Supervisory experience in a high-tempo workplace preferred. Proficient with computer software & related systems, well-developed written, verbal and communication skills. Must have fundamental shop skills such as print reading, measurement techniques, and a working knowledge of industrial manufacturing.
