Material Verification Inspector

Position Overview The role is an Onsite Material Verification Inspector located at 1100 International Plaza Suite 100, Chesapeake, VA. Responsibilities include ensuring received and purchased products meet purchase order, drawing, and technical specifications. What you will do Verify incoming product compliance with contractual, technical, industry, AS9100 Quality Management System (QMS) requirements and internal policies. Monitor and measure receiving area performance, tracking cycle times, lot quantities processed and nonconforming material status. Participate in supplier engagements to resolve product quality issues and coordinate return to vendor shipments. Interpret and adhere to quality standards, specifications, and procedures. Use measurement tools and equipment to verify product attributes and compliance with drawing requirements. Document inspection results using SAP and maintain detailed records. Identify and report defects, deviations, and non-conformities. Maintain control of nonconforming material. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve quality issues. Perform administrative tasks associated with file management and material control. Qualifications You Must Have: AA/AS degree (or other 2‑year post‑high school training) with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience. Mechanical fabrication or inspection experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Experience with inspection hand tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.). Previous experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and industry technical specifications. Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required. We Value: Strong knowledge of quality control principles, tools, and techniques. Previous experience in receiving inspection. Excellent attention to detail, problem‑solving skills, and organization. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Proficient in SAP and Microsoft Office Tool Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Experience in a machine shop or mechanical fabrication environment. Experience with ISO9001 and/or AS9100 Quality Management System. What you will learn Learn how to use and follow our Raytheon Quality Management System.
