About the Position

Registered Nurse – ICU (Travel Contract)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days/Evenings | 3x12-hour shifts between 7:00 AM – 11:30 PM | Every other weekend rotation and some holidays required | 4x12 schedule may be considered

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity Intensive Care Unit setting, including Medical, Surgical, and Trauma ICU patients
  • Monitor and interpret telemetry and cardiac rhythms, including identification of lethal arrhythmias and heart blocks
  • Float to other units as needed based on staffing and patient census requirements
  • Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately using Epic EMR
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans

Required Qualifications

  • Active Wisconsin RN license or valid Compact RN license required
  • Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience (Medical, Surgical, and/or Trauma) required; must be within the last 3 years
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required – American Heart Association (AHA) only
  • Proficiency with Epic EMR required
  • Must pass a Telemetry examination prior to start (adult and pediatric components; passing score of 80% or higher with 100% identification of lethal rhythms); up to three attempts permitted under defined criteria
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates will not be accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Experience working in a Magnet-designated or academic medical center environment
  • Familiarity with cardiac rhythm interpretation and advanced hemodynamic monitoring
