Senior Fund Accountant - Private Credit

Job Summary We are currently seeking a Senior Fund Accountant to join our Private Credit Fund Administration team in the Chicago, IL office. The role involves overseeing day‑to‑day accounting operations, guiding a team of associates, and ensuring accurate reporting for clients and stakeholders. Responsibilities Leverage prior job experience, preferably from a Big 4 or relevant industry background. Broaden accounting, finance, and analytical skills. Supervise and mentor a team of Associate Fund Accountants and Fund Accountants, while training new employees. Administer, report, review, and understand industry standards. Respond to auditor queries. Increase communication with clients and their investors, preparing and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports. Calculate and review various performance returns. Support and coordinate cash distributions on behalf of clients. Prepare, review, analyze, and interpret accounting records, financial statements, footnotes, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and compliance for audit reports. Develop leadership skills by leading projects and providing input. Review documents to ensure compliance with client agreement(s). Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or related field). 3+ years of finance or accounting experience. Experience working with Private Credit. In‑depth understanding of investments within assigned fund(s). Broad market knowledge. Strong communication and analytical skills. CPA or CPA eligibility a plus.
