Pay Range: $17.37 - $26.36

• The Resource Nurse is eligible for an additional $2.50 per hour incentive for working in multiple locations on a regular basis/day-to-day
• The Resource Nurse is also eligible for mileage reimbursement utilizing the HMG mileage chart and policy

General Summary: The Resource Nurse will be moved on a regular basis to work where needed in different Holston Medical Group locations using the necessary skills and knowledge for each type of office whether it is Family/Internal Medicine, OBGYN, Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Wellness, ENT, General Surgery, Gastroenterology, Call Center, etc. This position will perform multiple tasks as needed; take vitals, data collection, use of EMR, prepare patient for examination, maintain supplies, sterilize equipment, pick up vaccines and other medications, obtain prior authorizations, perform customer service checks on patients, work task list as needed, change sharps container, etc.

The Resource Nurse should be familiar with Specified Nursing Job Description/Requirements (Office Nurse, Medical Assistant and Clinical Assistant)

Main Responsibilities: Use patient first values in assisting patients with needs; greet patients with compassion and a friendly face; accurately assess and record patient vital signs in electronic database; prepare patients for examinations; serve as a Health Educator as directed in the Patient-Centered Medical Home Health Care Delivery Model; obtain prior authorizations and pre-certifications as needed for patients having procedures or tests; dispose of contaminated supplies/used items; sterilize medical instruments as needed; ensure that exam rooms are clean and stocked for patient use; maintain both supplies and equipment, proactively work with co-workers to stock; attend nurse meetings and other educational opportunities; pick up vaccines and other medications as needed; mail normal labs to patients and call patients with abnormal labs; perform customer service checks on patients every 10 minutes; change sharps container and biohazard trash; ensure to follow policies and procedures set by Holston Medical Group; maintain communication with providers to ensure that patents needs are taken care of; communicate all office issues with the Nurse Manager and Regional Operations Manager; ensure that equipment is in operating order (crash cart, defibrillator, autoclave, etc.); mentor new nursing staff and orient to the office; ensure that the Health Department records are maintained for the vaccinations for children; maintain clinical area to meet site visit standards; maintain strict confidentiality in all matters relating to personnel and patient PHI (Protected Health Information); enroll patients in myHMG as directed; may be moved to other offices upon request based upon the business need of Holston Medical Group on an occasional basis

Education/Experience/Knowledge: High School diploma or equivalent required; LPN license or MA Certification by the state in which employed; 3-5 years experience; CPR certified; must possess excellent communication skills; ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with others

Medium work that includes moving objects up to 50 pounds occasionally. Perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature, or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips. Work independently and identify potentially more effective methods of work operations. Observing an area that can be seen up and down or to right or left while eyes are fixed on a given point. Ability to identify and distinguish colors.
