About the Role

We are seeking a friendly, detail-oriented Phlebotomist to join our team. In this role, you will collect blood and other specimens from patients ranging from pediatric to geriatric populations while providing excellent customer service. You will work in a medium-sized patient service center alongside a small team and play an important role in ensuring accurate specimen collection and processing.

• Perform blood draws using straight and butterfly needles
• Collect additional specimens, such as urine and fecal samples, when needed
• Verify patient information and physician orders
• Label, process, centrifuge, split, freeze, and prepare specimens for shipment
• Ensure specimens are stored and transported according to established procedures
• Maintain accurate records and documentation
• Answer patient questions and explain collection procedures in a professional, compassionate manner
• Follow all OSHA, safety, and compliance guidelines
• Assist with daily laboratory operations and attend required trainings

• High School Diploma or GED
• At least 6 months of phlebotomy experience in a hospital, laboratory, or high-volume patient setting
• Strong venipuncture skills and experience with blood collection procedures
• Basic Microsoft Office skills
• Phlebotomy certification if required by your state

• Patient Service Center (PSC) setting
• Medium-sized location
• Work alongside approximately 2-3 team members
• Serve patients of all ages, from children to older adults
• Expect a fast-paced environment with approximately 60-80 patients per day
• Standing for most of the shift
• Includes one 30-minute lunch break and two 10-minute breaks

• Comprehensive onboarding and training during your first two weeks

• Comfortable working in a high-volume environment
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Reliable, organized, and able to work independently as well as part of a team

This is a Contract position based out of Ashland, KY.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Ashland,KY.
