Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Room / Float

Location

Colorado Springs, CO (Zone-Based Float – up to 60-mile radius)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | 12-Hour Day Shifts | Every Other Weekend and Holiday Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in Emergency Department settings across multiple facilities within an assigned regional zone covering up to a 60-mile radius
• Manage a patient assignment based on acuity with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4–5; common diagnoses include abdominal pain, NSTEMI, stroke, trauma, pneumonia, diabetes, and hypertension
• Perform and interpret telemetry monitoring independently, as monitor technicians are not available on unit
• Conduct Point of Care lab testing following facility training
• Administer standard emergency medications and drips; collaborate with charge nurses, techs, and respiratory therapy available 24/7
• Float between Emergency Departments within the assigned zone; facility assignment may be provided 1–2 hours prior to shift start under a Just-In-Time scheduling model

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of Colorado (or compact eligibility)
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications required
• Ability to independently read and interpret telemetry strips
• Must be available to float throughout the full 60-mile regional zone and obtain housing that supports this requirement
• Must be physically present in state during the week of orientation, even if initial modules are completed remotely

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in trauma-level facilities (Level III or Level IV) or STEMI/Stroke receiving centers
• Comfort working in high-volume emergency environments treating 40–168 patients per day
• Familiarity with Just-In-Time scheduling and multi-facility float assignments
