Accounting Manager– Commercial Construction / Project-Based BusinessCompensation: $80,000–$100,000 DOE | Full-Time | On-SiteA growing, privately held, owner-led company in the commercial construction/specialty contracting industry is seeking a hands-on Controller to lead its accounting operations. The company has experienced significant growth and is currently in the approximately $10M–$15M revenue range.This position reports directly to the owner and manages a three-person accounting team. The ideal candidate is comfortable both leading the accounting function and remaining involved in day-to-day operations. This is not a large corporate Controller role; the successful candidate will be someone who enjoys working closely with ownership, accounting staff and project teams in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and oversee day-to-day accounting operations and a three-person accounting teamManage month-end close, general ledger and account reconciliationsOversee AP, AR, collections and customer billingPrepare and review financial statements and management reportingMonitor cash flow and prepare short-term cash-flow forecastsStrengthen job-costing and project-accounting processesDevelop and maintain appropriate accounting controlsSupport budgeting and forecasting with the ownerWork closely with project managers and project coordinatorsIdentify opportunities to automate, streamline and improve accounting processesCoordinate with outside CPA and other financial partnersIdeal BackgroundApproximately 5–10 years of progressive accounting experienceStrong QuickBooks Online experience requiredPrior experience supervising or leading accounting staffStrong understanding of AP, AR, reconciliations, GL, cash flow and financial reportingConstruction, specialty contracting, installation or other project/job-cost accounting experience strongly preferredHighly tech-savvy and comfortable adopting new software and systemsStrong Excel/Google Sheets skillsHands-on, organized and comfortable working directly with an entrepreneurial ownerAble to lead, delegate and improve processes while still stepping into the details when necessaryCompensation: $80,000–$100,000, depending on experience.Search is confidential.
