Community Development Officer
A community development officer is responsible for working with the community to identify and address issues and needs, and to develop and implement programs and initiatives to improve organization's work in the community. This may include working with local government agencies, non-profit organizations, and community members to identify and address social, economic, and environmental issues.
Essential functions:
- Assists in the identification of new target markets for investment or expansion of services.
- Monitors expansion projects and provides ongoing updates as requested by the CEO and board of directors.
- Identifies and assists with targeting areas of business expansion for the organization
- Works with community members and governmental entities to assess resources and services for the organization.
- Participates in the development of a community needs assessment.
- Collaborates with local government agencies and non-profit organizations to coordinate and deliver services and resources to the community.
- Develops and maintains relationships with community members, organizations, and agencies to promote collaboration and partnership.
- Participates in community events and activities to promote community development and engagement
- Assists in the development of proposals that will expand the reach of the organization in the community.
- Assists with securing funding for ongoing and additional projects that benefit the community and organization.
- Assists in the development and management of grant proposals to support community development initiatives.
- Provides ongoing updates regarding Community Investment for the New Market Tax Credit project as outlined in the project requirements.
- Provides updates on trends regarding FQHC services and expansion of services in Louisiana.

Education/Experience: BA degree and/or MBA degree preferred; or a minimum of 10 years direct experience in community development.
Knowledge of business practices and community development practices.
