- Service TechnicianKS Pratt - Pratt, KS 67124## DescriptionBucklin Tractor & Implement Co. (BTI) is looking for a highly motivated Service Technican to join our team in our Pratt location. A Service Technician's primary responsibility is to independently perform complex diagnostic, service repairs and maintainence work on customer and/or dealer-owned agriculture and turf equipment. May require some direction or guidance from th Service Manager or Shop Foreman.BTI is a premier agriculture and farm equipment dealership serving central and western Kansas. Since 1944, BTI has valued the opportunity to create long-term relationships with our customers by giving them the best customer service available.Responsibilities:* Performs diagnostics and repairs on John Deere equipment and technology* Reports any additional work required on equipment to ensure proper operation and safety* Responsible for complete and thorough documentation of diagnostics and repairs performed on work orders and on time submittal of information* Keeping records required to establish cost of parts and labor charge to customer* Performs diagnostics and repairs in the field as required* Handle customer issues objectively and tactfully* Answer service phone calls and assisting the customer accordingly* Operates and maintains vehicles, tools and equipment required to perform job responsibilities* Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion* Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments* Maintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products* Participate in John Deere training courses and other continuing education classes, as assigned* Perform related and other duties, as assignedExperience, Education, Skills, and Knowledge:* High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required; Associates degree preferred.* Valid driver’s license is required* Minimum 1-2 years of experience performing mechanical service repairs required* Ag Tech Graduate or 2 years of John Deere experience preferred* Ability to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment, following Technical Manual procedures* Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in the repair of agricultural and turf equipment* Experience operating vehicles, tools, and equipment for diagnostic purposes* Experience with basic computer functions; experience using Service ADVISORTM or other computer based diagnostic repair tools preferred* Experience communicating effectively verbally and in writing* Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedlyBenefits:* 401(k) w/ company match* Health and Dental Insurance* Life Insurance* Paid Time Off* Company Paid Holidays* Training and Development Opportunities* Employee Discounts* Employee Assistance Program
