Field Service Technician

Whallon Machinery, Inc. | Royal Center, Indiana For over 60 years , Whallon Machinery has been designing and building custom palletizing, depalletizing, and conveyor systems for manufacturers around the world. Our equipment is operating in factories across North America, Europe, Asia, South America, Australia, and beyond. We're looking for a Field Service Technician to join our team. If you enjoy working with your hands, solving problems, traveling, and learning new technology, this may be the career you've been looking for. No two machines we build are exactly alike, so no two days on the job are either. If you like variety, you'll fit right in. Responsibilities Install and commission custom machinery at customer facilities Perform mechanical assembly and installation Wire electrical control systems Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues Assist with PLC and HMI startup (training provided) Train customers on machine operation Complete service reports and communicate with customers professionally Travel approximately 50% throughout the United States Qualifications We're looking for someone with experience in one or more of the following: Mechanical Assembly Electrical Wiring Experience with PLCs, hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, and VFDs is a plus—but not required. If you've got the right attitude and enjoy learning, we'll help you develop the rest. New employees will work alongside experienced technicians until they're comfortable handling projects independently.
