Pediatric Infectious Diseases Physician (Salt Lake City)

Position Overview

The Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at the University of Utah School of Medicine is recruiting a Pediatric Infectious Diseases Physician with interest and experience in Antibiotic Stewardship and/or Hospital Epidemiology. This role offers a vibrant academic environment at Primary Children’s Hospital, a 290‑bed children’s hospital ranked among U.S. News & World Report’s Best Hospitals, and in the University of Utah and Intermountain Healthcare systems.

Responsibilities

• Clinical consultation on the inpatient service and in the Infectious Diseases Clinic.
• Major role in the antimicrobial stewardship program, including development of a novel tele‑stewardship program expanding to pediatric beds.
• Clinical activities at Primary Children’s Hospital and affiliated systems.
• Academic work: investigation, education, administration/service, and advocacy.
• Opportunity to develop an independent research career or focus on quality improvement.

Qualifications

• Board Eligible/Board Certified in Pediatrics and in Pediatric Infectious Diseases or Infectious Diseases.
• Demonstrated research, quality improvement, or other scholarly activity.
• Interest and experience in Antibiotic Stewardship and/or Hospital Epidemiology.
