Senior AccountantThe Senior Accountant maintains the books and accounting records in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Standards, includes participating in project-oriented work, development of processes and procedures, and participation in accounting cadence. Executes quarterly and annual reporting, balance sheet review; collaborates with accounting team and businesses to ensure processes are effective and efficient to meet department and company objectives.The Senior Accountant demonstrates and adheres to the company values of safety, honesty, ownership, respect and teamwork to ensure a successful partnership with customers and employees that result in OmniTRAX's continued success.Essential ResponsibilitiesPerform general accounting transactions in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP): prepare and validate accuracy of month-end closing entries; maintain and reconcile general ledger with thorough understanding of financial reporting and GL structure; account reconciliations and analysis; inventory cycle count coordination and adjustment; and review and approve vendor bill codingAd hoc reporting and analysisParticipate in reporting, balance sheet reviews and fluctuation analysisPrepare audit work papersAssist in review of internal controlsReview Staff Accountant's work activities: journal entries, balance sheet reconciliationsResearch, analyze and document technical accounting issuesParticipate in implementation and adherence of new accounting standards, including but not limited to, ASC 606 Revenue From Contracts with Customers and ASC 842 Lease AccountingCollaborate with team members and other departments on systems and process improvements; identify and recommend process improvement opportunitiesParticipates in development and implementation of new processes, procedures, policies and controlsOther DutiesStay apprised of current accounting rules and regulationsPerform other duties and projects as assignedSupervisory ResponsibilitiesReview Staff Accountants' work activitiesRequired Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesBachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field, or combination of education and related experience5+ plus years' accounting experienceStrong analytical and problem-solving skills; methods and techniques of financial analysis and researchExperience applying ASC 606 Revenue From Contracts With Customers and ASC 842 Lease AccountingSuperb accuracy and attention to detailProficient user of ERP systems; knowledgeable user of larger financial reporting systemsStrong relationship builder with internal employees and external business associates conducted in a professional mannerManage multiple projects; excellent organizational, time management and prioritization skills to meet deadlinesExcellent verbal and written communication skills; effectively converse with all levels of the companyIntermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite; advanced Excel skillsProfessional integrity and accountabilityWork in fast-paced, collaborative environmentRequired Certifications and LicensesNonePreferred Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesPrevious experience in Rail Transportation, Supply Chain Logistics, Manufacturing and/or Oil and Gas industriesPublic accounting experienceNetSuite experienceCPAPreferred Certifications and LicensesCPAWork EnvironmentWork in a climate-controlled office and routinely use standard office equipmentOnsite at the Corporate Office four days per week (Monday-Thursday).
