The Veterans Service Assistant/Maintenance position assists in the daily implementation of day-to-day basic residential services, safety, maintenance and upkeep of the facility.FLSA Classification: Non-ExemptResponsibilitiesEnsure high quality condition of the physical building(s) and surrounding area of the facility including all permanent and temporary structures as well as parking lot and surrounding landscape areas.Perform hands-on maintenance tasks to ensure the facility remains clean, safe, and well-maintained. Ensures effective coordination with all state agencies and other entities responsible for the upkeep of the facility and its property.Maintains required maintenance logs of all facility equipment and units.Provides recommendations to the Executive Management Team with respect to modifications of facility.Implements directly or through contract modifications and/or repairs to facility in a timely fashion.Works collaboratively with the Operations Manager to maintain needed physical building supply inventoryConveying needs to the Program Manager to maintain supply inventory of supplies and ensures proper storageAssists in the delivery of basic services (such as shelter, food, hygiene, etc.) to veterans served at the facilityEnsures harmonious atmosphere at the facility by maintaining communication with Executive Management team and maintaining a therapeutic community environmentManage the delivery and handling of tenants' mail, ensuring accurate and timely distribution tenantsAssists tenants with the move-in and move-out from the facilityResponsible for addressing tenants' issues timely to ensure the non-interruption of services and or housingProvide shuttle van transportation for tenants to community agencies such as the VA, DMV, and Social Security office, as well as essential destinations like grocery stores to support tenants' daily living needs.Assists with maintenance and upkeep of the facility and ensures readiness for inspectionsResponsible for implementation of all safety and emergency proceduresFacilitate inspections of rooms to ensure a clean, safe and hazardless environmentConducts various administrative duties to include documentation of health and welfare check, inspections, incident reports, tenant's logs, etc.Adheres to the site work order procedureOther duties as assignedQualificationsRequirementsAbility to work independently and collaborativelyAbility to communicate and coordination with other facility staffBasic computer literacyClean driving record abstract and ability to be covered by organization insuranceMust be energetic, dedicated to the mission and flexibleMust have at least two years experience with facility management or equivalent maintenance experience and/or ability.Experience with programs, tenants' population, similar populations, or other relevant experience preferredGood communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work collaboratively with residential staffMust promote tenants-centered philosophy and skilled in creating/maintaining a sober environmentMust be energetic, dedicated to mission and flexibleBasic computer literacyValid driver's license required.
