CONCRETE LABORER

Concrete Construction Assistant

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist carpenters and finishers with concrete construction activities.
• Prepare jobsites prior to concrete placement.
• Move and organize forming materials, lumber, reinforcing steel, tools, and equipment.
• Assist with setting and stripping concrete forms.
• Place and tie reinforcing steel and welded wire reinforcement as directed.
• Assist during concrete pours with chute handling, raking, shoveling, vibrating, and placement.
• Perform concrete demolition and cleanup when necessary.
• Install curing materials and perform concrete protection activities.
• Clean tools, forms, equipment, and work areas.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, compactors, saws, and other equipment after proper training.
• Load and unload construction materials.
• Follow instructions provided by foremen and supervisors.
• Follow all company safety policies and wear required PPE.
• Perform other construction duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous construction or concrete experience preferred but not required.
• Willingness to learn concrete construction methods and equipment.
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work throughout the workday.
• Willingness to work overtime when project schedules require it.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to regularly lift and carry 50–75 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, climb, push, and pull throughout the workday.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions.
• Ability to work safely around construction equipment and active concrete operations.
