Job Title: CNC Mill Machine Operator Job Description

Join a precision aerospace and defense manufacturing team as a CNC Mill Machine Operator, where you will operate and help set up 3, 4, and 5 axis CNC mills to produce high-quality components. • Operate 3, 4, and 5 axis vertical and horizontal CNC milling machines to produce precision components for aerospace and defense applications.
• Set up CNC mills by installing pallets, vises, tombstones, and fixtures to support efficient and accurate machining operations.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T to understand part requirements and machining strategies.
• Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and height gauges to verify dimensions and ensure parts meet quality standards.
• Apply basic math, geometry, and trigonometry to calculate dimensions, offsets, and machining parameters as needed.
• Assist in adjusting machine settings and tools under guidance to optimize part quality and throughput.
• Follow established procedures and work instructions to maintain consistency, safety, and product quality.
• Collaborate with team members and trainers to continuously improve machining skills and process knowledge.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with shop standards and safety guidelines.
• Communicate any issues with equipment, tooling, or quality to the appropriate personnel in a timely manner.

• Previous experience running or operating CNC machines, with the ability to learn CNC mill operations.
• Ability to operate 3, 4, and 5 axis vertical and horizontal CNC mills or willingness to train into this capability.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T.
• Proficiency using precision measurement tools, including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and height gauges.
• Competence with basic math, geometry, and trigonometry for machining-related calculations.
• Demonstrated dependability and strong work ethic in a manufacturing or machining environment.
• Drive and ambition to learn machining and develop technical skills over time.

• Previous aerospace manufacturing experience is a significant plus.
• Experience working with aluminum components and defense-related machining is highly beneficial.
• Familiarity with CNC mills in a production environment.
• Ability to interpret and work to tight tolerances common in aerospace and defense manufacturing.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Willingness to participate in training and cross-training to expand capabilities.
• Interest in long-term career growth into lead, supervisor, or manager roles.

You will work in a dedicated aerospace machine shop that specializes in world-class machining, fabrication, and assembly of precision parts and assemblies for the aerospace and defense industries. The environment features advanced 3, 4, and 5 axis CNC vertical and horizontal mills and precision measurement equipment such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and height gauges. As part of a multi-facility operation with significant capability and capacity, you will be surrounded by experienced machinists and technicians who focus on quality, precision, and continuous improvement. The shop operates with structured procedures and safety practices appropriate for aerospace and defense work, and you can expect a professional, production-focused setting where reliability, craftsmanship, and teamwork are highly valued.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Auburn, WA.

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $28.00/hr.
