Skilled Nursing Facility Medical Billing SpecialistWe are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Billing Specialist to join our team in a Skilled Nursing Facility. The ideal candidate will have experience with healthcare or medical billing and be comfortable working with Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance, and private-pay accounts.Job DutiesVerify eligibility and benefits for new resident admissions.Meet with residents and/or their families to explain admission agreements and obtain all required signatures.Perform medical billing functions, including billing Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance, and private-pay accounts.Review and resolve claim denials and billing issues.Post and balance electronic and manual payments.Monitor and follow up on outstanding accounts receivable.Identify, research, and resolve overpayments and other account discrepancies.Maintain accurate and organized billing records.Communicate professionally with residents, families, insurance companies, and facility staff regarding billing and payment matters.RequirementsAssociate degree in Business Administration or a related field preferred but not required.Minimum of two years of experience in healthcare or medical billing.Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance, and private-pay billing preferred.Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, medical billing clearinghouses, and medical billing software systems.Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.DisclaimerThe responsibilities listed above are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed in this position.
