Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM | Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to adult and geriatric Medical-Surgical patients requiring cardiac monitoring, with a patient ratio of 1:5
• Perform telemetry and dysrhythmia interpretation and management, including on-unit and remote telemetry monitoring
• Participate in Rapid Response and Code Team activations as required
• Manage blood product administration, central lines, peripheral lines, PICC lines, heparin protocols, and non-titratable cardiac drips
• Provide pre- and post-cardiac catheterization care; manage feeding tubes, PCAs, surgical drains, tracheostomies, wound care, and wound vacs
• Float within scope of care to meet unit needs as required; complete required orientation modules and annual competency modules per facility policy

Required Qualifications

• Active Maryland RN license or valid Compact RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required; Med-Surg/Telemetry experience required
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Must pass a pass/fail telemetry interpretation exam during orientation
• Strong telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation and management experience required
• Local candidates are welcome

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Experience with Cerner electronic health records preferred
• Experience managing patients with seizure disorders and substance withdrawal preferred
