About the Position

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Cath Lab Special Procedures Technologist (SPT) to join our team. In this role, you will assist with performing sterile diagnostic and interventional care for patients ranging from young adults through the elderly. The ideal candidate will demonstrate basic competency in specialized procedures and equipment, including diagnostic and interventional cardiac, electrophysiology, structural heart, and interventional radiology procedures.

This position requires a strong focus on patient safety, hemodynamic monitoring, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, critical care environment.

Traveler Rate: Up to $4,101 for 48 hours.

Key Responsibilities

• Interventional Procedures: Assist with Cardiac Cath and Interventional Procedures (PTCA, PCI, Rotablator, CSI, Penumbra, etc.).

• Vascular & Structural Heart: Assist with Vascular Procedures (IVC filters, peripheral runoffs, acute and chronic occlusions, PTA/stenting, Radiofrequency Ablations, AAA repair, TCAR, Carotid Angiography, Renal Angiograms, Graftograms/Fistulograms, EKOS) and Structural Heart procedures (TAVR, Watchman, PFO closures, Mitraclips).

• Hemodynamic Support: Assist with Balloon Pump / Impella insertion, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

• Diagnostics & Imaging: Assist with Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUs), Fractional Flow Reserve (FFR) / Instantaneous Wave-Free Ratio (iFR), and Spectranetics laser.

• Electrophysiology (EP): Assist with EP procedures, Radiofrequency ablations, Cryoablations, Electrical Pulse Field Ablations, Pacemaker/ICD placement, Loop Recorder insertion/removal, and Synchronized Cardioversion/Defibrillation.

• Vascular Access & Closure: Assist with Vascular Access, maintaining/pulling arterial and/or venous sheaths (manual compression, hemostasis devices, etc.), and Arterial & Venous closure devices (Mynx, Vascade, Perclose, Angioseal, TR Band): application, maintenance, removal, and post care.

• Patient Monitoring: Continuously assess hemodynamic stability using invasive and non-invasive measures. Ensure all values, procedural details, and clinical responses are precisely documented on the EMR (Epic) and hemodynamic monitoring system (Philips XPER).

• Medication & Equipment: Set up, use, and maintain contrast delivery methods (Acist device, manual manifold). Maintain contrast volume used and report to physician as indicated.

• Critical Care: Assist in the care of critically ill patients, including postmortem care, ACT, and patient transport.

• Call Coverage: Participate in 24/7 call coverage (365 days) with a 30-minute hospital arrival time.

Requirements

Education & Certifications

Required:

• Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.

• Associate's degree in Radiology Technology.

• ARRT Certification.

• KY State Certification.

• BLS Certification.

• EKG training required
