Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Med Surg/Oncology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 12 months Med Surg experience required. License: Current RN license required. Certifications: BLS required. NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred. Must-Have: - Minimum of 18 months nursing experience in a hospital setting required. - Experience caring for neurology patients required. - Experience administering heparin, cardizem, and amiodarone required. - Skills checklist specific to the discipline required. - Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, or manager within the past 24 months preferred. Description: We are seeking a Registered Nurse specializing in Med Surg/Oncology to join our team. The ideal candidate will float between Med Surg and Stepdown units as needed. Patient ratios are 1:5 during the day and 1:6 at night. Our unit specializes in caring for neurology and oncology patients. Strong experience with oncology care is highly preferred. Candidates must have experience in administering critical medications such as heparin, cardizem, and amiodarone. A De-Escalation Certificate is highly preferred, but can be obtained during onboarding. First-time travelers are welcome if they meet the minimum nursing experience requirement. Candidates must be able to work 1-2 upcoming summer holidays unless the unit is closed. A valid driver's license is required. A current Nursys verification is necessary. We prioritize candidates who can demonstrate a commitment to patient-centered care and have strong clinical skills. Interested candidates should be ready to provide documentation of their qualifications and references during the application process.
