What You’ll Do This individual is accountable for the teaching and supervision of students in the Medical Assisting program based on the Chapter 74 Massachusetts state frameworks. Role Responsibilities Responsible for the standards‑based instruction of students in Medical Assisting. Responsible for integration of the department’s curriculum and alignment of the CVTE state frameworks to the course. Perform other job‑related duties as assigned. Job Requirements Associate degree or higher in a related field. Four years of full‑time employment experience directly related to medical assisting. Required Massachusetts teaching certification/licensure in Medical Assisting – Chapter 74 (or willingness to work toward). Current authorization to work in the United States. Bilingual candidates and candidates of color strongly encouraged to apply. Second language (Spanish and/or Portuguese) proficiency a plus. Preferred Qualifications Advanced educational preparation. Curriculum development experience and knowledge of technical competencies with curriculum frameworks. Proficiency with technology such as blended learning, teacher/family communication suites (Remind preferred), Google G‑Suite Apps, etc. Demonstrated experience supporting students with disabilities. Demonstrated experience supporting English language learners. Work Year Teachers in Salem Public Schools work a 185‑day school year (180 student contact days plus 5 professional development days). Salary Teacher salaries in the Salem Public Schools are determined by the Salem Teachers Union collective bargaining agreement (2024‑2027). Salary information can be found in Appendix A.
