- Performing thorough assessments, ordering diagnostic tests, and developing tailored care strategies
- Diagnosing and addressing acute and chronic health issues in partnership with physicians or independently, depending on your credentials
- Teaching patients and families about preventative care, wellness strategies, and disease management.
- Prescribing medications and therapies in accordance with your scope of practice
- Engaging in follow-up care and chronic disease management
- Working collaboratively within interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Accurately documenting patient interactions in electronic medical records (EMR)
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
- Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- Active Nurse Practitioner license in Washington State
- National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP or ANCC) or appropriate specialty certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or able to obtain within 90 days)
- Robust clinical judgement coupled with a nurturing bedside style
- Exceptional communication abilities with patients, families, and healthcare teams
- Flexibility in fast-paced, patient-focused settings
- Competence in electronic medical records and familiarity with telehealth tools
