Unit Highlights

This position is available in a specialized pediatric emergency department with a total of 36 beds plus 2 trauma rooms. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 3:1. The unit is staffed with unit clerks, pharmacists, technicians, mid-level providers, and physicians, all working collaboratively to deliver exceptional care.

Required Qualifications

Must have at least 2 years of experience in an emergency department
Active RN License from Texas (Temporary Licenses are not accepted)
Certification in BLS, PALS, ENPC, TNCC
Experience working in a pediatric environment

Preferred Qualifications

Leadership experience, such as Charge Nurse or Nursing Educator
Experience in accessing and performing interventions on pediatric patients
Familiarity with the Meditech documentation system

Unit Specifics

Standard emergency room equipment tailored for pediatric care is utilized in this unit. Staff members are expected to float to emergency department holds or inpatient areas as needed.

Dress Code

Scrub Color: Navy (undershirts and jackets in white, navy, and black only - no hooded jackets or sweaters)
Nail Policy: No artificial nails or nail polish
Hair: Off the shoulders, natural color
Tattoos: Should be covered whenever possible
Piercings: Visible piercings other than ears are prohibited
