Maintenance Worker - 1st Shift (12 Month)

Maintenance WorkerLake Forest School District 67 is seeking a 1st Shift, 12-Month Maintenance Worker. The Maintenance position is responsible for the maintenance of all district buildings, including HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and electrical. In addition, they shall perform a majority of skilled and semi-skilled tasks in the repair, adjustment, and maintenance of the building systems, equipment, and structures.Starting rate: $22.24/hour to $23.60/hourBenefits: Insurance - medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance are available Leaves - paid sick, personal, holiday, vacation days provided Pension - the district and employee contribute to IMRFEssential Functions:Maintain and/or replace filters according to the Preventative Maintenance SchedulePlumbing Repair drinking fountainsRepair clogged drainsRepair leaksRepair pumpsGeneral repairsCarpentry Repair and replace doorsFlooring and wall tileLight constructionReplace ceiling tileSnow RemovalPlows and salts drives and sidewalks as neededShovels walks and outside steps as neededWinter hours vary on the weather. Starting early or staying late may be requiredWorking weekends and holidays may be requiredRepair door locks and lockersAssist with snow removal as requiredAssists in setups and takedowns for building eventsPerforms miscellaneous landscaping projectsPerforms other job related duties as assigned by their direct supervisorAdheres to Board of Education policies and proceduresMaintain budget while ordering supplies for the campusCoordinate all maintenance work throughout the buildingCoordinate with general contractors on bigger projectsPhysical Demands & Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, reach, grasp, feel, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, push, pull, and lift. Repetitive motions are required. The employee must lift and/or move up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 80 pounds of force frequently, and up to 50 pounds of force constantly. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Elevated work on ladders and aerial lifts is also required. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly subject to inside and outside environmental conditions and is subject to loud noises, heat, cold, humidity, fumes, odors, dust, mists, gasses, chemicals, and hazards associated with moving mechanical parts and vehicles. Occasionally works in close quarters and narrow aisles and passageways.
