Skilled LaborerCMS Mechanical is looking for a Skilled Laborer. CMS Mechanical self-performs work in both the commercial and industrial sectors, including scopes of work related to the provision, installation, and service of heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems, process piping/systems, and energy systems. This includes electrical generation and co-generation systems, along with all related components required to deliver fully functional systems to our customers.Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions)Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate hazards; ensure proper use of tools and equipmentCut steel using flame torchBevel, grind, and prepare materials for weldingLoad, unload, and identify materials, machinery, and tools; distribute to appropriate locations per project plans or Superintendent directionLubricate, clean, and repair machinery, equipment, and toolsMeasure pipe and cut to sizeApply caulking, cleaning solutions, or other compounds by hand or with toolsPrepare forms for concrete pouring and dismantle after use using various toolsGrind, scrape, sand, or polish surfaces using abrasive tools or machinesDig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, and level earth to grade specifications using manual toolsOther duties as assignedEducation and ExperienceHigh school diploma and a minimum of 2–3 years of previous mechanical construction experience, including HVAC ductwork, electrical controls, and threaded pipe installationKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesStrong communication skills and ability to coordinate work with team membersStrong organizational skills for managing time and resources efficientlyAbility to read blueprints and drawingsAbility to work independentlyMust be able to use various hand and power toolsMust be able to accurately read and use a tape measureSupervisory ResponsibilitiesWorks under the direction of a Superintendent or Skilled TradesmanWorking ConditionsPhysical effort required for frequent lifting or moving of heavy materialsAbility to lift up to fifty (50) pounds and walk a project siteRegularly required to sit or stand, bend, and reachAbility to work in confined spaceWork is performed in outdoor weather conditions on job sitesMust be able to travel for extended periods to support projectsBenefitsCMS offers competitive pay along with a benefit package including Health, Vision, and Dental Insurance, AFLAC, 401K with company match, Paid Time Off, Life Insurance, and Paid Holidays.
