Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr Engineer - Java to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to mentor junior engineers. The candidate will work on complex systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security while adhering to organizational standards and best practices.

Responsibilities:

• Write tests and document technical work products, including code, scripts, and processes, according to organizational standards and practices.
• Solve technical problems and build components/libraries with far-reaching impact.
• Deliver high-quality work and coach junior engineers on technical craftsmanship.
• Conduct root cause analysis to identify systemic problems and lead the execution of action items to address them.
• Design integrated systems that model organizational best practices, enabling teams across product domains to deliver value with speed, scale, and reliability.
• Oversee the management of technical debt in existing systems and drive opportunities to eliminate it within ongoing implementations.
• Anticipate scaling, latency, and durability challenges, and guide teams in implementing mitigating strategies.
• Collaborate with the security organization to incorporate security-conscious practices early in the lifecycle of new systems.
• Evaluate technical risks and guide teams toward practical prevention strategies.
• Reflect on team delivery practices, recommend improvements to leadership, and drive their implementation.
• Identify and remove duplication of effort across teams, proactively seeking opportunities for reuse within the organization.
• Measure and assess team performance, identifying areas of development for individuals.
• Explore emerging technologies, lead the development of prototypes, and incorporate them into architectural solutions where appropriate.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
• 5-7 years of experience in software development or engineering.
• Proficiency in Java with Spring Boot, Kafka, and MongoDB.
• Experience with distributed caching, GraphQL, SOAP, RestAPI, and NoSQL (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of design and development techniques, including Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD), Unified Modeling Language (UML), and Test-Driven Development (TDD).
• Expertise in web technologies such as Java EE, Spring MVC, Spring Web Flow, Struts, HTML, CSS, XML, Servlets, JSP, JavaScript, JQuery, JUnit, JSON, Ajax, Angular, and React.
• Experience with service technologies, including Java 1.8, EJB, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Groovy, REST/SOAP Web Services, and more.
• Proficiency in relational databases and persistence technologies such as Hibernate, JPA, JDBC, MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and PL/SQL.
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases like DynamoDB and NoSQL.
• Experience with cloud technologies, including Amazon Web Services (AWS) and CloudFormation Templates.
• Knowledge of caching technologies like Redis Cache and EhCache.
• Experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka and Azure Event Hubs.
• Proficiency in CI/CD tools, including JUnit, Mockito, JBehave, Maven, Jenkins, Nexus, Chef, and Puppet.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools like Dynatrace, CloudWatch, and Zenoss.
• Experience with project management tools such as Jira, Rally, Confluence, and Visio.
• Proficiency in operating systems like Windows, Unix, and Linux.
• Experience with IDEs such as Eclipse, RAD, Oracle SQL Developer, PuTTY, Visual Studio Code, and Robo Mongo.
• Knowledge of testing tools like Postman and SoapUI.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, including Scrum, Kanban, and XP.

Pay Range: $60- $65
