The company’s automotive center is in Rochester Hills, Michigan, which consists of finance, sales, engineering, testing, and program management, and will serve as the Machinist I. Position Summary The Machinist I position is an entry‑level role focused on machining and fabricating. Candidates should possess basic concepts and working knowledge of measuring instruments, including micrometers and calipers, as well as experience with vertical mills and lathes. The primary responsibility is to machine and produce products according to specifications and directions while collaborating with engineering and other machinists to develop products that meet company standards. Key Roles and Responsibilities Develops and fabricates parts, fixtures, and assemblies using metal forming, machining, and joining equipment. Possesses listening and learning skills. Communicates effectively to support development and company enhancement. Fabricates, builds, assembles, verifies, and maintains setup of test fixtures. Performs dimensional and material inspections as needed. Assembles prototype products that meet customer specifications and delivery requirements. Promotes an associate relations environment consistent with long‑term management objectives. Possesses mechanical background. Performs other duties as necessary. 4S support. Qualifications Education High school diploma or equivalent required. Functional Experience Ability to read complex engineering drawings (preferred). Basic knowledge of electricity and measuring equipment. Basic knowledge of the properties of a variety of construction materials. Basic working knowledge of measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, etc.). Industry Experience 2 years of experience is preferred. Core Competencies Ability to follow instructions and demonstrate strong listening and learning skills. Basic computer proficiency (PLEX experience preferred). Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Effective communication skills and ability to promote a positive team environment. Other Requirements Requires frequent head and neck movement, and frequent arm and above‑shoulder work. Lift, carry, or move objects up to 50 lbs.
