This position is a member of the direct patient care team and is fully competent in all aspects of ultrasound exams. The Diagnostic Ultrasound Technologist II position serves as a mentor and trainer to the Ultrasound Technologist I and students. This position works independently by exercising sound judgment and executing above average clinical skills on challenging diagnostic procedures. The Diagnostic Ultrasound Technologist II position provides direct assistance to physicians with all diagnostic and special ultrasound procedures. This position delivers exceptional patient care and adheres to ultrasound exam standards and guidelines established by governing agencies to ensure optimal patient safety and customer service.Preferred Qualifications:OB/GYN registered with ARDMS.Job Duties:Promotes a positive work environment.Collaborates with all members of the patient care team.Guides and mentors Ultrasound Technologist I and students to help build confidence in skills, knowledge and abilities.Uses peer-to-peer accountability towards department goals for retention and employee engagement.Utilizes verbal, nonverbal & written communication to achieve mutual understanding.Utilizes active communication and reports pertinent patient care information in a comprehensive manner.Proactive in responding to patient needs.Performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures to include common and special ultrasound exams of high complexity.Optimizes protocols to provide better patient care, image quality and patient experience.
