Job Summary


Our client is seeking a dedicated Health Information Management Specialist to manage and ensure the integrity of health records. The position involves responsibilities such as document management, ambulatory and inpatient indexing, and vital records data abstraction.


Key Responsibilities

• Document Management - Retrieval, preparation, scanning, and management of patient records.
• Ambulatory and Inpatient Indexing - Quality verification, discrepancy evaluation, and electronic tagging.
• Core Responsibilities - Origin verification, document type analysis, patient identification, and encounter date verification.
• Vital Records Data Abstraction and Record Completion - Reviewing birth registration worksheets and conducting patient interviews.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of experience in an acute care hospital with HIM experience.
• Proficiency with document management systems and data entry.
• Proficient in KSAs, EXCEL, and Word.
• Preferred experience with Epic and OnBase applications.

Skills

• Proficiency in computer/data entry and using EXCEL and Word.
• Strong communication skills within the healthcare team.

Schedule/Shift


Sunday-Thursday OR Tuesday-Saturday. Start time is negotiable but no earlier than 6am and no later than 8am.
