As an IT Architect, you will actively shape the future of the insurance core business as part of a large-scale modernization of the IT landscape. Together with your team, you will replace existing legacy systems (primarily COBOL-based) with future-proof technologies such as Docker/Kubernetes/Openshift, Postgres, Oracle, Java/JakartaEE, Quarkus, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and SPA frameworks (Angular), REST, Apache Kafka, and Business Process Automation using Camunda.

Whether it's the introduction or new development of backend legacy systems, customer-oriented frontend applications, or the integration of SaaS solutions – your expertise is in demand in numerous and exciting IT projects. With your work, you create the foundation for innovative, future-proof IT structures and drive the digital transformation of Debeka forward.

Your contribution to the WE

• Conception and integration of complex IT system landscapes with on-premises and cloud applications
• Active steering and technical coordination in exciting IT projects in the context of the realignment of our entire IT landscape
• Message-based integration of IT systems
• Building and conveying know-how around the topic of messaging, ideally using Apache Kafka
• Close cooperation with users and departments to gather requirements for integration scenarios

What we wish for us

• Completed studies in the field of computer science or a comparable qualification
• Enthusiasm for the analysis and design of distributed software applications and their integration into an existing system landscape
• Expertise in the area of asynchronous communication with Apache Kafka is desirable
• Knowledge in the field of OOP (Java, C++, C# or similar)
• Knowledge in the field of web service technologies (e.g. Java, JakartaEE, Eclipse Microprofile, Quarkus), as well as in the field of container-based systems (e.g. Docker, OpenShift, Kubernetes)
• Proficient technical and structured thinking, high customer and goal orientation as well as a convincing appearance at customer and management level
• Self-responsibility and team orientation
• Very good German language skills in speech and writing
