JOB SUMMARY

The Precast Concrete Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the production of precast concrete elements. This role ensures production processes run efficiently, safely, and meet quality and schedule requirements. The supervisor also manages staff, equipment, and materials, and acts as the liaison between project management and on-site teams. Supervisor may be responsible for overseeing multiple teams or crews up to 30-40 people at times. The Production Supervisor reports to the Production Manager.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supervise daily activities related to the production of precast concrete components (e.g., walls, slabs, beams, columns).
• Plan and allocate work to meet production schedules and deadlines
• Read and interpret drawings to fabricate rebar assemblies
• Lead and direct crews to fabricate the reinforcement cages for large precast products per plans and specs
• Ensure compliance with safety, health and environmental regulations
• Communicate and plan work with other departments such as carpentry, warehouse, rebar and steel to ensure materials are ready to meet work schedule
• Coordinate with Scheduler, Engineers, Quality Control and Logistics teams for seamless workflow
• Conduct daily inspections of molds, reinforcements, concrete mixes and finished products for Quality Assurance
• Train and mentor production workers and enforce best & safe work practices
• Maintain accurate records of production output, labor hours, job coding and training
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving production issues
• Enforce the correct use and maintenance of tools, machines and PPE
• Attend and contribute to planning and coordination meetings as required
• Foster a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement

SKILLS & ABILITIES

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license with clear driving record
• 5+ years in precast concrete production or construction with at least 1 year in a supervisory role
• Knowledge of precast manufacturing processes; NPCA or PCI background preferred
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent planning, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Basic computer literacy in MS Office and scheduling software(s)
• Strong understanding of quality assurance processes and safety regulations
• Must be self-motivated and able to work independently or with a team; willingness to be flexible as needed

FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS

This position requires constant (70-100%) standing, lifting up to 50lbs, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, kneeling, crawling, reaching, handling, feeling, use hands to finger, hearing (listening) and observing (vision), hand/eye coordination and walking. Consists of 60% forklift driving, 30-40% walking and supervising workers on crew to ensure safety, productivity and organization on daily yard operations. Requires frequent (40-69%) climbing, balancing, stooping, crouching and occasional (0-39%) sitting. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision and ability to adjust and focus. This position is subject to onsite hazards including but not limited to moving industrial equipment, hazardous energies (LOTO), climbing ladders, working at heights, working on uneven or unimproved surfaces and areas of high noise levels, may operate hand and power tools (electric, gas & pneumatic) of all types. Must be able to walk on uneven surfaces, muddy conditions, loose rock, loose/soft sand, etc. May be required to work in confined spaces. Will be exposed to adverse weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.). Candidate must be able to be medically qualified by a NON-DOT or other job specific physical.
