Data Governance Specialist Application Development

Blu Omega is seeking a Data Governance Specialist to support the Defense Health Agency's mission to modernize and unify data management across the Military Health System by improving the quality, consistency, and trustworthiness of enterprise data through strong governance and stewardship practices. The Data Governance Specialist will support data inventory and catalog efforts, apply data standards and SOPs, and perform analysis and validation to ensure DHA data is well-documented, discoverable, and ready for secure interoperability and analytics in alignment with DoD VAULTIS principles. Responsibilities:

• Identify, document, and validate enterprise data assets to support DHA-wide inventory and data catalog efforts
• Maintain governance documentation including data definitions, metadata elements, and stewardship artifacts to improve data usability and trust
• Perform data quality reviews and research analysis to identify inconsistencies, gaps, and improvement opportunities across datasets
• Develop and update SOPs and governance workflows to ensure consistent information capture and ongoing data management practices

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Data Management, Public Health, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
• 3+ years of experience supporting data governance, data quality, or enterprise data management initiatives
• Strong analytical skills with experience conducting quantitative research, validation, and data-driven problem solving
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail, with the ability to document standards and coordinate across stakeholders
