RN - Postpartum Profession: RN Specialty: Post Partum Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS Certification, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Must-Have: Minimum experience of 2 years in Post Partum Description:The unit has 10 labor and delivery beds and 2 operating rooms.There are 2 triage beds available.The postpartum area includes 18 beds.The average number of births is approximately 130 per month, with around 40-60 cesarean sections monthly.The nurse-to-patient ratio is 4:1 for couplets.The electronic medical record system used is Cerner.Charge nurse responsibilities are shared between labor and delivery and postpartum.There are no nurse aides or OB technicians on the unit.Weekend work requires 4 shifts in a 4-week period.There is no call requirement for the position.Holidays require working one major holiday and one minor holiday during the year.The major holidays include Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Year’s Day.Scrub colors are provided.There is no telemetry unit; transfers will occur with a 30-minute response time.Ventilators are not utilized in the postpartum unit.Currently, there are no OB or neonatologists in-house.An IV team is not present.Respiratory therapy is available 24/7.Pharmacy services are also accessible 24/7.Twelve-hour shifts are scheduled from 0645 to 1915 and 1845 to 0715.Floating is not typically required unless there is a NICU background for feeder/grower.The orientation for the unit consists of two shifts.Common patient diagnoses include high‑risk antepartum patients and those with hypertension.Known cardiac abnormalities in babies are ideally transferred out before delivery.Perinatology support is available when needed.Cancellation policy allows for the hospital to cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment.Charting is performed using the Cerner system. #J-18808-Ljbffr Cynet Health
