About the Position

Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - NICU Profession: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Specialty: RRT-NICU Duration: 18 weeks Shift: Night 4x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years of recent experience in NICU/PICU required License: NM License Certifications: RRT, BLS, ACLS, NRP Must-Have: - Experience in NICU and PICU required - Must be self-rated 4 on High Frequency Jet Ventilator (HFJV) and High Frequency Oscillator (HFOV) - Must work 2 out of 3 holiday bundles: Thanksgiving & the day after, Christmas Eve & Christmas Day, New Year's Eve & New Year's Day - No locals within 100 miles Description: The Registered Respiratory Therapist will provide specialized respiratory care to neonates and pediatrics. Average daily census includes 6-10 ventilated patients. Responsibilities include endotracheal tube insertion, extubation, and pulmonary toileting. The therapist will perform tracheostomy care and manage ventilator settings. Candidates must demonstrate competency in arterial blood gas interpretation and suctioning techniques. Weekend work is required based on unit needs, with a maximum of 3 consecutive weekends. The role involves floating to the adult respiratory unit as needed. Experience in a Level I Trauma environment is preferred. Candidates must be able to handle high-pressure situations and work effectively in a team. A commitment to high-quality patient care and safety is essential. Travelers must comply with required documentation and pre-employment screenings.
