QA Automation Engineer

QE Automation EngineerWe are seeking an experienced Automation Quality Engineer (QE) with strong expertise in test automation using Selenium and Cucumber. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks and ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of applications throughout the software development lifecycle.The role requires strong hands-on automation experience, programming skills, knowledge of modern testing methodologies, and the ability to collaborate effectively with developers, product owners, business analysts, and other QE engineers in an Agile environment.Required Technical SkillsStrong hands-on experience in Quality Engineering, Software Testing, and Test Automation.Strong experience with Selenium WebDriver for web application automation.Strong experience with Cucumber and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD).Proficiency in at least one programming language, preferably Java.Strong understanding of Gherkin syntax, feature files, step definitions, hooks, and Cucumber test execution.Experience designing and maintaining automation frameworks using patterns such as Page Object Model (POM).Experience with testing frameworks such as JUnit or TestNG.Experience with build and dependency-management tools such as Maven or Gradle.Experience with REST API testing using REST Assured, Postman, or equivalent tools/frameworks.Experience working with Git-based source control and branching strategies.Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar platforms.Good understanding of SQL and relational databases for backend data validation.Strong understanding of functional, regression, integration, end-to-end, smoke, and negative testing.Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and SDLC/STLC processes.Roles & ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks.Develop and execute automated tests using Selenium WebDriver and Cucumber.Implement and maintain BDD-based test scenarios using Gherkin, feature files, step definitions, and hooks.Develop automation frameworks following design patterns such as Page Object Model (POM).Perform functional, regression, integration, end-to-end, smoke, and negative testing.Develop and maintain automated REST API tests using REST Assured, Postman, or equivalent tools.Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar platforms.Perform backend data validation using SQL and relational databases.Collaborate with developers, product owners, business analysts, and QE engineers in an Agile environment.Participate in code reviews and follow Git-based source control and branching strategies.Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve automation and application issues.Ensure application quality, reliability, and performance throughout the SDLC.Apply software testing concepts and best practices across the testing lifecycle.Soft SkillsStrong debugging, troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Strong collaboration and communication skills.Ability to work effectively in an Agile/Scrum environment.About the companyAvance Consulting is a global leader in innovative talent solutions for diverse industries.
