Whether your expertise lies in requirements, systems design, architecture, integration or verification, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to capability that directly supports Australia's national security objectives.This is an exciting opportunity to work on a large-scale Defence program while developing your expertise in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Agile delivery and System-of-Systems engineering.Key ResponsibilitiesThe Systems Engineer's primary responsibilities include:Develop and manage system and subsystem requirements within a Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) environmentSupport system architecture, interface definition, integration and verification activitiesProduce engineering artefacts including requirements, design documentation, specifications and trade studiesCollaborate with engineering teams, SMEs and Defence stakeholders to support capability development and deliveryContribute to engineering reviews, design activities and technical decision-making processesSupport continuous improvement initiatives and the adoption of modern engineering practices across the programWhat you’ll bring To be successful in this role you will have:Experience across the systems engineering lifecycle, including requirements, design, integration, verification or validation activitiesExposure to Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles and tools such as Cameo, MagicDraw, Rhapsody or similarExperience working on complex systems within Defence, aerospace, communications or other high-technology environmentsStrong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skillsThe ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams while managing competing prioritiesEngineering degree or equivalent industry experienceNV1 security clearance and ability to handle Export Controlled informationProficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practiceDon't meet every requirement?
