What a day looks like

You roll up to your first home and listen to the customer describe symptoms. You run performance checks, trace the source of the issue, and explain your findings in plain language. You recommend only what is needed and, when appropriate, you review financing or payment options so the homeowner can make an informed decision without pressure.

Repairs are executed with precision: components replaced, systems recalibrated, and safety verified. Between calls, you perform proactive maintenance that keeps equipment efficient and reliable. Every step is documented clearly so customers and teammates know exactly what was done.

Throughout the day, you follow established safety standards and procedures, and you keep your skills sharp by tapping into ongoing training and education offered through Ace Hardware Home Services.

Your core responsibilities

• Deliver a customer-first experience with clear diagnoses and transparent recommendations, including explaining payment or financing options when needed.
• Test, troubleshoot, and repair residential HVAC systems; identify faults and replace or repair parts and components.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance to improve performance and extend system life.
• Complete authorized work accurately and on time, documenting detailed service notes.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant work environment by following standards and procedures.
• Pursue continuous learning to stay current on equipment, technologies, and best practices.

What you bring

• At least 3 years of residential HVAC service experience required.
• EPA certification.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Availability for a rotating on-call schedule.
• Strong understanding of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning principles.
• Sharp troubleshooting ability and attention to detail.
• Self-directed with sound judgment in the field.
• Clear, friendly communication and strong interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Based in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, our integrated HVAC, plumbing, and construction service divisions proudly serve the Poconos, Monroe, and Northampton Counties, as well as the broader Northeastern Pennsylvania region.
