Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking experienced and qualified Registered Nurses (RNs) to join a busy Level 1 Trauma ICU team. Candidates must be flexible regarding scheduling and open to floating between units as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2 or 1:3, depending on patient acuity.
• Monitor critical patients, including those undergoing liver and kidney transplants, vascular surgeries, and complex abdominal procedures.
• Utilize advanced skills for early recognition of changes in patient conditions and effective communication with healthcare providers.
• Administer and titrate medications, including vasopressors and sedatives.
• Collaborate with intensivists and APPs, who are available 24/7, providing comprehensive care to patients.
• Engage in troubleshooting of respiratory equipment as required.
• Utilize EPIC for charting and documentation.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of RN experience, preferably in a high-volume, busy hospital setting.
• Previous travel nursing experience is highly desirable.
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS are required.
• Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to quickly identify and respond to changes in patient conditions.
• Experience with CRRT, hemodynamic monitoring, chest tubes, ventilators, and managing various surgical drains.

Work Environment

• Day and night shifts available; rotating weekend coverage required.
• Intermittent presence of patient care technicians to assist with patient ADLs and other tasks.
• Dress code includes teal bottoms and coordinating scrub tops; professional appearance expected.
• No shellac, dip, or acrylic nails; regular polish is allowed but must be unchipped.

• Prepare for potential adjustments based on patient census.
